Koala Conservation Australia's annual koala food tree giveaway for 2023 was a huge success!

Following the devastating bush fires that swept up and down the east coast of Australia in 2019-2020 and the subsequent floods, helping regenerate bushland has become a priority for Koala Conservation Australia.

This year’s program, a joint initiative between the Koala Hospital and the Forestry Corporation of NSW, offered four different species to suit different soil and habitat locations: tallowwood, grey gum, forest red gum and swamp mahogany.

The giveaway started on the 1st May 2023 and has seen over 25,000 additional Koala food trees planted.

Kempsey Council will also be participating in this year's Tree Giveaway. To order your trees please click this Link: Order your trees here Trees will be available for one day only on 30th May, 2023 from 1pm to 5pm at Macleay Landcare, 42 Rudder Street, East Kempsey.
